DEXON Technology tackles Thailand’s carbon emission reduction promises using drone gas leak detection in conjunction with PTT GC
On the 2nd of September 2022 Mr. Pachara Sukhakhurn, Khun Palm from DEXON’s domestic sales department visited the PTT Global Chemical (GC) “Together to Net Zero” 2050 exhibition at the paragon exhibition hall in Bangkok Thailand in conjunction with PTT GC. The Net Zero exhibition and conference was set up to promote the Thai government’s goal of being carbon neutral by the year 2050. PTTGC’s “together to net zero” commitment is part of a clear road map that sees the company reducing carbon emissions by 20% by the year 2030 and then achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
PTT GC has been rated #1 in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices chemical sector for the second consecutive year. the DJSI which was launched in 1999 was created by S&P global and Dow Jones as an index used to assess the effectiveness of business operations in accordance with sustainable development practices.
Gas Leak Detection
Dexon’s gas leak detection system is a crucial inspection method required to meet the goals set forth in the Together To Net Zero plan. The drone-based system allows inspection personnel to accurately and reliably detect, locate and quantify hydrocarbon leaks. Hydrocarbon leaks contribute to greenhouse gases that cause global warming in addition to decreasing plant efficiency and increasing costs. The airborne and drone-based system means that inspection crew sizes and overall inspection and set up times are drastically reduced. Entire facilities an be inspected in significantly less time and at a moment’s notice without the need to shut down the facility.
