Ultrasonic Multi-Channel Falcon

High-Resolution Metal Loss Inspection for Critical Pipeline Threats

Metal loss is the most common integrity threat facing pipeline operators. Internal corrosion, external corrosion, pitting, pinhole defects, erosion, and localized wall loss can develop over decades before becoming critical integrity concerns.

Dexon developed the Ultrasonic Multi-Channel (UT-MC) Falcon to provide high-resolution ultrasonic inspection for a range of pipeline assets, including those historically considered unpiggable. Combining award-winning UT technology with bespoke engineering, the UT-MC Falcon provides operators with the data required to make confident integrity decisions.

Full-Scale Testing & Validation

Engineers validate each UT-MC Falcon system at Dexon's 7-acre test facility using closed-loop push-through systems and representative defect samples. Artificial metal loss defects, pitting, and corrosion features are installed to verify detection capability, sizing accuracy, and tool passage prior to mobilization. Custom defects, weld anomalies, and representative pipeline geometries can be installed to verify both detection capability and tool passage prior to mobilization. Clients are welcome to witness testing, technology demonstrations, and inspection validation activities at Dexon's X-Base research and testing facility.
