Our latest corrosion inspection technology has earned Dexon the Best Innovative Company Award (mai) at the SET Awards 2026—marking our fourth win in a row.
Here’s the problem the technology, PipeGlide, was built to solve.
An operator’s pipelines ran over huge wastewater ponds, partly submerged. Constant exposure to air and water made these lines prime spots for corrosion. But inspecting them meant shutting down the line, draining thousands of liters of water and building scaffolding, then moving it point to point to take spot thickness readings by hand.
The result: long downtimes, high inspection costs, and data that was hard to compare over time.
PipeGlide removes those obstacles. It’s a remote-controlled robotic crawler that grips the outside of 8" and 10" carbon steel pipe with magnetic wheels. As it travels along and around the pipe, an ultrasonic (PAUT) probe maps the remaining wall thickness and tags every reading to its exact position.
Because it works from the outside of a live line, there’s no need to shut down or drain. Because it carries the probe to every point itself, there’s no scaffolding. And because it’s controlled remotely, inspectors stay safely on the platform.
The data goes into our Interactive Intelligence Report, which maps results and photos onto a 3D model of the pipe. That makes it faster to flag areas to watch, prioritize repairs, and feed RBI.
With no shutdown, drain-down or scaffolding, PipeGlide has cut customer costs by more than THB 3 million per inspection in documented cases.
Next, we’re adding more pipe sizes and site conditions, and linking inspection data over time for proactive integrity management.
A big thank you to our partners and to every team member who made this possible. We can’t wait to show you what’s next.
